Established in 1975, the Spruill Center for the Arts (SCA) is a private, non-profit organization, whose mission is to foster understanding and appreciation of the visual and performing arts, by offering an extensive and diverse program of classes, a professional artist exhibition series and outreach programs for seniors, youth, and audiences with special needs. Individual memberships are at $30 and family memberships begin at $60.
The Spruill Center offers classes and workshops for children and teens. Summer Camp 2007 offers ten one-week sessions with a variety of the arts like painting, drawing, paper maché, ceramics, collage, acting, and new to the Spruill Center this year, dancing.
This summer in 2007, the Summer Camp theme is “Art Around the World,” where each week the children are taken to different parts of the world, and explore them visually and artistically. The children will travel and learn about Imperial China, the drumbeats of Africa, Morocco and Egypt, Hawaii, the Caribbean, New Orleans, South America, Ireland, Mexico, and a “Trek Down Under” to Australia.
Fee per Session Week: $165 for Members, $185 for Non-Members. Before and After Care available. Call for fee details.
