107.9 WLXM is Lexington's hometown radio station, locally owned and operated by Lake Murray Broadcasting, Inc., a nonprofit corporation. WLXM codirectors, Richard B. Peterson and G. Michael Willis are Lexington residents and South Carolina natives, dedicated to providing local, community radio for Lexington and Lake Murray. On-air personalities include Ken Martin 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Mike Willis 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Mike Anderson 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
WLXM is supported by financial support and underwriting dollars provided by local businesses, corporations and listeners.
The WLXM music format is a unique blend of beach/shag, classic hits, vinatge R&B, country, blues, Motown and Rock & Roll. Programming also includes local (Lexington and Lake Murray) news and information, detailed Lake Murray weather, boating & fishing reports, and current lake conditions , such as winds, water temperature and lake level.
WLXM is also the official home of Lexington High School athletics, the weekly LHS coaches show and live 'play by play' coverage of all (home and away) LHS football games.
