- I am a real estate broker specializing in residential real estate in Santa Rosa and the surrounding communities. I have sold real estate for over 20 years and have never seen a market like the one we have had for the last 4 years. Real estate is always challenging - staying on top of the short sales and foreclosures means being able to consult with homeowners about the best answers to tough questions. There are better options now than there were six months ago for short sales- I think the HAFA short sale program will be a major part of bringing our housing market back in balance. As is alwsys the case there is positive part of the market- buyers have opportunties that were not available a couple of years ago-- and those interest rates (4.0%-4.5%) fixed for 30 years- amazing. Finding houses for my buyers is fun and I love it when my clients walk into a house I have found and know they have found their next home-
