- Lake Lure is a small town (pop 1200) located in an iso-thermal weather "belt" which keeps the summers cooler and the winters warmer. We are 45 minutes southeast of Asheville NC, 90 minutes northwest of Charlotte, NC and about 3 hours north of Atlanta, GA. We help folks who are looking for an affordable golf course community, lakefront property, a primary home, second home/investment or a getaway cabin located in the woods. While you'll see and hear about very inexpensive land in the mountains, you need an experienced agent to help you locate one of the 1-acre homesites starting in the mid $20,000 range on up. Existing houses start closer to $200,000. Because we search the market on a daily basis, once we know someone's budget our goal is to work within that range, not to do a bait and switch to a higher priced house that will strain your resources. The dream everyone has of finding 5 acres on the lake for $50,000 has, regretably, gone the way of cheap gasoline. Lakefront property is always in short supply, but the demand has increased significantly in the last few years. Again, because we're constantly searching the market, we can shorten your search and occasionally find that bargain you're seeking. We are the largest firm in the Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, Gerton, Lake Lure area, with 15 licensed agents. The only reason that's important is because it means you'll always find someone available to work with you--7 days a week.
