  • Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters is a high-adventure, Christian, wilderness camp that's on the cutting edge of student ministry. Everything we do at Snowbird is used as a platform to equip young people to survive in the toughest generation ever. This generation of students is faced with cultural challenges like no other generation. We feel a strong calling to aid youth pastors and churches in providing foundational teaching that will help students develop a Christian worldview. OUR PROGRAMS Snowbird operates year-'round, with programs including nine weeks of summer camp, weekend retreats, ski retreats, and custom events for any group. A missions camp serves the underprivileged of Snowbird's local area. We also have an outdoor leadership school that operates during summer camp and with a semester program. Our 9 week summer program runs Monday to Saturday from the first week of June through the first week of August. One price includes lodging, food, 4 days of recreation, and worship services. We have a staff to camper ratio of 1 to 4. During your week of camp your group will be surrounded by a mature loving staff as they experience a week of intense recreation, worship and teaching that will help shape their concept of God. Snowbird has a two-fold ministry objective: evangelism and discipleship. We seek to provide solid discipleship through our programs that will equip students and adults to be confident in the work of the Spirit of God in their lives. In addition to daily worship services, we offer breakout sessions on a wide range of topics such as, Reliability of Scripture, Accountability and Community, Dealing with Lust, Creation vs. Evolution, and How To Study the Bible. Summer activities include a ropes challenge course, a four acre paintball field, skate park, basketball and volleyball, foam pit, skeet shooting, archery, foam pit, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, canoeing, mountain biking, puddle jumping, caving, lake tubing, snow skiing and snowboarding (in season). Our high adventure recreation is second to none and has been a huge attraction for groups every year. Our campus is packed with cable swings, zip lines, and climbing elements including a climbing tower with multiple climbing problems that reach over 60ft high. Our band leads in song and scripture reading year round as we reflect, focus and honor God through worship. Our drama team writes skits and dramas that are powerful, graphic, and scriptural. The most effective ministry we have with students happens when they are talking one-on-one with a staff member. Snowbird is made up of about 30 full-time staff members who pour their lives into the people who visit Snowbird. Our staff members are a gifted group of mature and young people with a selfless desire to serve Christ through student ministry. Our staff desires to seek out opportunities to connect with students through recreation, music, drama or just hanging out during free time. The accommodations at Snowbird are clean, comfortable, and functional. As Snowbird is located in a valley of rolling mountains, there is little need for air-conditioned accommodations in the summer. In colder months, our winterized cabins are heated, which allows us to offer weekend retreats all year long. The showers are hot and the creek is cool. Someone once described Snowbird as, "This ain't no marshmallow-roasting camp," but you can if you want to!! Pumping out three hot meals a day for nearly 500 people for 9 weeks in the summer isn't an easy task, but with the amazing kitchen staff, led by our cook who is a culinary genius, our students are blown away. Between our hot bar line and well-stocked soup and salad bar, students who are not satisfied with greatness, have the option of ready made "PB&J" sandwiches. The food here is for sure, a great reason to come back for seconds! STATEMENT OF FAITH Snowbird holds true to its Statement of Faith in everything we do. Our Statement is: 1. The Bible is the Word of God, written by men, divinely inspired of God and is sufficient for salvation, for trusting him completely, and for obeying him faithfully. (2 Tim 3:16-17, Deut 4:2; Prov 30:5-6; Psalm 119; 1 Peter 2:1-3) 2. God eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, and there is one God. (Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14; Eph 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; Jude 20-21) 3. Man, created in the image and likeness of God, fell into bondage of sin through the temptation of Satan. Now, because of the inherited sin nature handed down to all of mankind because of Adam’s sin, human beings are spiritually dead and in need of a Savior. (Gen 1:26-27; Gen 5:1-2; Gen 3; Romans 3:9-19; Romans 5:12-19; Eph 2:1-2) 4. Salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through the atonement of our sins by Jesus Christ, who by the Holy Spirit was born of the virgin Mary and took upon Himself our nature, yet without sin, fully God and fully man. (Eph 2:8-9; Heb 2:17; 4:15; Luke 1:26-37; Phil 2:5-11; 1 Cor 15; 2 Cor 5:11-21; 1 Peter 2: 22-25) 5. The blessings of salvation are offered freely to all who by repenting put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. Salvation is impossible apart from Jesus Christ. All true believers endure to the end by the power of God. (Matt 10:22; John 1:11-14; 3:16,36; 10:27-29 Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:31; Rom 3:23-25; 10:9-10; Acts 20:21; 2 Cor 7:9-10; Phil 1:6; Heb 3:14; 1 Peter 1:5; 1 John 1:9) 6. The Lord Jesus Christ, who was resurrected from the tomb and ascended into Heaven, will visibly and powerfully return to earth in power and glory. After this there will be a final judgment for all mankind, the righteous to eternal life and the unrighteous to eternal punishment. (Matt 25:31-46; 28:5-7; John 14:3; 1 Thess 4:16; Acts 1:7-11; Rev 1:7; 20:11-15)
