I’m Ann Salpeter Schockett, your new Woodmere Executive Leader. This position is meaningful to me since I represent a community I’ve cherished for most of my life. With your interest and participation, I will work to preserve the beauty of our community and enhance services to our area. I will be your direct voice to government.
NOW, MORE THAN EVER, YOUR VOICE CAN BE HEARD! For too long, our community has been silent, politically ‘dormant’ – the new Club will be an active political entity and a strong voice in government.
OUR OBJECTIVES: To listen to your ideas and concerns! To preserve our community and be a strong and vibrant voice in government. From matters as ‘simple’ as a clogged storm drain to those as profound as our high taxes not reflecting the quality of government/municipal services we should have, there are many timely topics we will address and try to resolve through a strong club and our political allies.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN WOODMERE TO BE A PART OF THE CLUB! From attending club meetings to becoming an elite official of the Nassau County Committee to attending exclusive political functions or hosting one of your own to working on local, state and national campaigns... there is a place WAITING for you!
YOU AND I MOVED HERE FOR A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE: more responsive police protection, better infrastructure, excellent libraries and beautiful parks with recreational programs… In this economic climate and due to overspending by the prior county government, there is a real danger that the very services for which we moved and for which we pay dearly may be severely cut; this was begun during the prior county administration - we can not allow that to continue!
