- Summit Academy is dedicated to helping students and families deal with learning problems in a way that will foster a love of learning, and decrease the family stresses involved when a child struggles in school. Summit Academy is a private school for students with learning disabilities. We serve children ages K - 8 grade, and currently have 150 students enrolled. Our students are all unique and have unique educational requirements. We fashion our curriculum and our class groupings to suit the needs of the students. Our student/teacher ratio is 7/1, and our classes for literacy and math can be as small as two students, depending on their needs. Although our students have average to above-average intelligence, they usually have a combination of challenges to learning, including dyslexia, attention disorders, sensory integration disorders, Asperber's Syndrome, communication disorders and many others. We also believe that many students with learning challenges have gifts in other areas such as art, music, drama and sports, and should have the opportunity to experience success in these areas. We offer many different after-school activities and a curriculum that includes art and music. Summit Academy is located in Middletown, Kentucky, near the intersection of Shelbyville Road and Blankenbaker Parkway.
