Our founder, Walter Murphy, opened the doors to Capitol Fuel in the early 1960’s to provide coal to homeowners in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Valley Energy is still family-run, owned, and operated by Walter’s children and grandchildren out of our facility in Purcellville, Virginia.
