During the 1950’s, legendary FBI crime fighter Eliot Ness co-wrote his autobiography, The Untouchables, while drinking coffee at the northeast corner of the store. While camping in the Coudersport area, Hollywood superstar Joan Crawford left her autograph for the previous proprietor, Mackey’s Restaurant; the newspaper article covering the event and Crawford's autograph is currently displayed on the east wall.
