- Wright's Karate is a family-run business that caters to the family. We are a growing business that targets children, youth, and adults to encourage them to join the martial arts. It is our goal to offer affordable karate lessons; therefore, an hour of quality instruction is only $10.00! We guarantee superior instruction and we can prove it. Our instructor, Megan Wright, was awarded Instructor of the Year 2008 from the World Karate Union Hall of Fame. We currently offer two programs, one for children and one for adults. We are also hoping to open a women's self-defense course. We are centrally located for Durham residents; we are only 1.8 miles away from Roxboro Road. Simply turn onto Old Oxford Road and turn into Ample Storage Industry Park. Look for our sign. We specialize in karate, tang soo do, and ju-jitsu. Students will learn a variety of techniques, katas, and self-defense maneuvers; however, students will also learn self-confidence and self-control. Our motto is "Kicking Together for a Better Future" and we work hard to ensure that our students have opportunities to better themselves and their community. Students are involved in community service as well as academic achievment programs. While we stress respect and discipline, we also have a lot of fun working together.
