- I provide a child care service in which children can interact with other children of about the same age, participate in structured activities, and have a fixed routine. They are in a homelike atmosphere: loving, comfortable and enjoyable. There is ample space and a wealth of equipment for indoor games. We also go on walks around the neighborhood and the park often. We provide a caring environment, encouraging and stimulating for children and do everything possible to provide an engaging and meaningful curriculum. This is a place to interact socially, develop language, learn communication, acquire cultural knowledge, have physical activity, learn about health and healthy eating, have experiences through the atmosphere, be intellectually stimulated, develop cognitive skills and problem-solving skills, bring to fruition creativity, express oneself, reach emotional stability, and mature. As the principal provider, my responsibilities in the business include planning: a healthy breakfast, lunch and snack; a room arrangement safe for and accessible to children in which age-appropriate and non-hazardous toys will be available; educational and interesting daily activities; exciting trips; and the fire drill in order to be always prepared in case of emergencies. I am responsible for establishing and implementing the policies of the program, reviewing the health and progress of the children daily, and having good communication with parents. My assistants and I have training on the proper supervision of children, their needs for nutrition and good health, security procedures and protection, identification and prevention of child abuse and maltreatment, and knowledge of the statutes and regulations relating to the care of children. Our responsibilities include but are not limited to: supervising the play of children, ensuring their physical safety at all times, helping with daily routines such as going to the toilet, dressing, eating and sleeping; cooking meals and light snacks; and maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment. I have a group family day care license from the city of New York; credentials at the national level in child development (CDA); I am authorized by the city of New York to administer medications in my program (MAT); I have permission and knowledge of how to administer first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for babies, children, and adults; I have taken nutritional training and have the child and adult care food program (CACFP); training in child care business development; and health and safety training including safety procedures: universal precautions and emergency preparedness. We currently have vacancies for toddler/preschool children ages 2 to 5 on a full-time weekly basis.
