The founders of the company, David Connant and Terry Teets, both served in the military and worked for several police agencies prior to realizing their dream of creating a security company that had the potential to be so much more than what the industry had come to accept from private security. By creating a broader awareness of the law and implementing a training program that attempted to mirror that of the military and police, David and Terry were able to start changing the perception of private security from "observe and report" to being able to be more pro-active and deterring crime. Their unique approach proved so effective that it caught the attention of Heartbeat of America, a nationally syndicated news program hosted by William Shatner. The program showcased Valley Protective Services' commitment to excellence and exceptional standards of performance by some of the best trained men and women in the security industry. Since its incorporation in 2002, Valley Protective Services has grown to over 350 employees and services more than 300 clients in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The decision was made to expand, and in 2007 Valley Protective Services of Tucson and Valley Protective Services of New Mexico were added to the team. It is our absolute belief that in order to provide the best customer service, management and motivated employee performance, it is essential to have a local office with a vested interest in the community.
