The Urbandale Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization charged with promoting business in the Urbandale-area. We currently have over 600 member businesses in and around Urbandale. We offer a broad variety of benefits to our members including: at least 3 networking events every month, lunch and learn education programs, referrals through our website, interactive RFP, (request for proposal), option through our website that allows one e-mailed bid to be sent to every member business that provides a particular product or service, workforce development through our Junior Leaders program working with area high schools and colleges, an active Governmental Affairs program that advocates for business issues at the local, county, state, and federal level of government. We also have U-Dollars available for purchase that are redeemable at all Chamber businesses. Since the launch in December, 2008 we have infused over $10,000 into our local chamber economy! Shopping local makes a big difference, and the Chamber is pleased to support this initiative through U-Dollars.
In addition, we organize all official Chamber ribbon cuttings for new area businesses or businesses that are celebrating a milestone. Like Golf Outings? The Urbandale Chamber sponsors two golf outings per year: The Wild West Shootout, joint with West Des Moines and Clive Chambers, and the Casket Classic - a Halloween golf outing with costume party to follow. In addition, one of our biggest events is coming up September 24, 2009 - Sample Urbandale, an Iowa Wine Event at Stoney Creek Inn. This is wine tasting offers samplings from Urbandale Chamber restaurants and live music from Roxi Copeland with a live and silent auction. Over 350 people attended the event in 2008 and we anticipate further growth this year.
