- Barack Obama Charter School is a tuition-free public school serving students in grades K-6. In 2010, grade 7 will be added. The school is operated by non-profit, Ingenium Schools and serves residents of Compton, Lynwood, Los Angeles and surrounding communities. Our Mission Statement is: "Barack Obama Charter School will utilize the Re-inventing Schools Model to continuously improve the delivery of a student centered quality instructional program. Our school will support strong student achievement in a safe learning environment". Our goal is: "Delivering Quality Education and Student Accountability". All students will be taught to take ownership of their learning by using quality systems and tools such as setting their learning and behavioral/social goals, preparing action plans for achieving these goals, and tracking their own academic statistics and behavioral/social progress in their data notebooks. As a result, they will become self-aware and self-reflecting analytical thinkers and independent decision makers.
