This is different and here's how. Chambers Street Builders "self performs". What does "self perform" literally mean? Self Perform means that on any given job Chambers Street Builders will step into one of the sub-contractors positions and self perform the work. Everyday Chambers Street Builders is performing one of the many disciplines of construction. This might mean performing concrete foundations work or exterior trimout. It may mean framing super structure or fabricating granite countertops. It may mean installing hurricane tie down systems or installing, sanding and finishing wood floors. There is a very important reason Chambers Street Builders does this "self performance". It makes us understand the nuances of the processes to a higher level. We can be more effective managers of the tradesmen if we can "walk their walk" and effectively compete in their discipline. You can't bluff people in today's Psychozoic Era. I have found you must truly be able to walk the walk with people if you are going to best manage the whole. There is a dynamic by-product to the cross disciplines theory. Chambers Street Builders is individually capable of handling specialized materials and maintains specialized machinery that conventional operations just won't have. For instance, our structural high work requires us to keep a 60' bucket truck with a 3,000 lb. material handler usually used for power line work. When we combine this skillset with the granite fabrication work, it is routine for Chambers Street Builders to install full, 5 foot by 11 foot, seamless marble slabs for bathroom floors and walls, even on the 4th floor.
