Historic Gakona Lodge and Trading Post was established in 1904. One of only a couple of the original roadhouses remaining in Alaska. Has rooms, cabins, restaurant and tavern. Guides available for World Class Salmon Fishing. On the National Register of Historic Places. Located on the confluence of the Copper and Gakona Rivers.
Carriage House restaurant is the most "Unique Dining Experience in the Copper River Valley" and is open all evening 7 days a week from June 1 through August 31.
Trapper's Den Tavern is open everyday in the evenings, 5:30 until close for all cocktails.
Lodge is located adjacent Wrangel-St Elias National Park on the Copper River.
Fishing consists of King and Sockeye Salmon, Rainbows and Lake Trout.
The lodge in located on Mile 2 of the Tok Cutoff, right of the Richardson Highway between Anchorage and Fairbanks. See webpage for driving instructions.
