We have a very extensive menu of mouth watering Smoothies and Coffee Frappes.Smoothie Espresso provides organic supplements for better health, and delicious drinks and food for everyone’s taste. Just the name Smoothie Espresso makes one think of the delicious aroma of coffees, a deli and all kinds of wonderful juices. A great place for a vegetarian’s delight and the meat lover too if you’re looking for lunch. Soup is on and the wifi is hot. Grab a mug and a book for a refreshing break from the world. Melinda Dingley, owner and operator of Smoothie Espresso, says her business has undergone some transitions over the years, all of them good, but the last four have been superb. She started out with a Health food store which was a Japanese Imports Market for natural supplements and herbs. Then, the store changed to a health food store. “I bought it shortly after the owner changed it, I made it better and bigger. Now ten years later, Smoothie Espresso was born!” Located at 173 Tovrea, Suite A, Smoothie Espresso’s owner expects to double her capacity and sales, as well as customer satisfaction. The offerings continue to grow as new items are put on the menu. “We have no shortage of imagination and ideas for putting a new smoothie together, by our staff or a guest.” “We have a lot of fun with our new holiday treats too and the creativity does not quit for customer requests.” “We have focused on light on the go breakfasts and healthy quick lunches, but we expect to expand our breakfast and lunch menus to even more healthier choices ”, said Dingley. “We had the highest attendance at our Barista School since our opening, March 2005, and everyone gained certification”, she said. Leadership is important to building a good team. Our staff members are chosen for their spirit of excellence in academics as well as community efforts. “If they aren’t goal and vision oriented, they can’t excel in building strength and team ship at Smoothie Espresso, Melinda said. We believe each staff member’s talents and skills are their greatest asset. This is what makes our place great. Scott Bagwell is our Lead Barista Night Manager, and is attending Alvin Community College. Katie Estes is the Lead Barista & Administrative Attending Manager, and is attending Alvin Community College. Mrs. Julianne Burke is our Opening Store Manager with over ten years in food management service. Setsuko Gabbert, 50+ years of experience, oversees the health food store, she has done so for the past 15 years of business. She has been with the owners since the beginning and is a wealth of knowledge and a lifetime of experience starting the original store in 1967. Melinda Dingley, living health conscious for 29 years and being a mom of three and for many foster children, has had her hands full keeping children well and keeping a healthy house. We have lived in this area since 1989 and have operated our businesses in Alvin having strong ties with the community leaders, churches and friends. We believe in Alvin being a great place to develop and grow.
