- Here at PALS with Pawz, we believe that anyone who needs a Service or Therapy Dog should have a Service or Therapy Dog; regardless of Age, or Income. We have no minimum age for most types of dogs. PALS with Pawz trains Rescued and Donated Dogs as Autism, Mobility, Therapy and Neurological Disorder Service Dog Teams for physically, emotionally and psychologically disabled persons. Thereby Creating a strong bond between the Dog and their Disabled Partner; resulting in the enhancement of their physical and emotional freedoms, sense of security, independence and the enrichment of their quality of life. PALS with Pawz has two additional programs. All Pawz candidates must participate in our READING Pawz and Therapy Pawz programs. This way the dogs are exposed to various types of people and situations; and at the same time we are providing a valuable community service. READING Pawz, utilizes our Therapy dogs by volunteering their time to children who need a little extra assistance with their reading and at an At Risk Youth Program. Classroom Pawz, takes the Service and/or Therapy Dogs into the elementary and middle schools, educating students on subjects such as: How to approach a strange dog, Importance of Service Dogs in our society, Dog Safety, etc. We also hold weekly training classes for the public at Moore Park every Saturday. These classes run from the 6 wk old puppy to the 9 year old dog. We serve Marion and the Surrounding Counties.
