- I was a stay at home mom for 10 years when I realized that there was a great need in Southington and the surrounding areas for an affordable place to shop for new and used sports and fitness equipment. My husband and I opened this store in March 2006, excited to provide new equipment at great prices and allow customers to sell their used equipment to us, so we can resell it. Used equipment resells at about one-half of its new price, so it is a great bargain for a family who needs to save money. We also love the fact that this saves a ton of perfectly usable equipment from the landfills. To date (March 4, 2009) we have recycled over 14,000 items. UPDATE: as of September, 2013 we have recycled over 40,000 items! Play It Again Sports is located at 685 Queen Street (Rt 10) in Southington, in the plaza with Taco Bell and Sleepys. We are opened Mon-Sat 10am to 8pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Our sports equipment encompasses golf, baseball, lacrosse, skateboards, ice and roller hockey, ice and roller skates, soccer, water sports, disc golf, ultimate frisbees, football and snowsports. Our fitness equipment is olympic and standard weights, benches, treadmills, ellipticals, trampolines, dumbbells, boxing and martial arts. It is an ever changing inventory of about 50% of new equipment and 50% of pre-owned equipment. We reside in Southington and both work here with several other employees. We pride ourselves on great customer service and have won several awards for customer satisfaction, store operations and product quality. We offer discounts for leagues, their coaches and players.
