Yana's Cafe' is an African American family owned & operated buisness. The cafe is located in the heart of Nicetown Philly, near the intersection of Germantown Ave. & Hunting Park Ave. It was established February 2005 and has served thousands of patrons from all walks of life. Yana's is the brainchild of two lifelong Nicetown philadelphian's who grew up virtually neighbors. They grew in love, married, and to this union two children Shawn & Tiyana were born. After diligently working in their chosen careers the owners decided to start a family buisness and wanted to return to their roots to do so. Tonya, the owner/manager of Yana's earned a degree from Temple University in Buisness Administration in 1992. Tonya's dream of becoming a buisness owner coupled with her passion and love for preparing fresh and tasty meals spawned the Breakfast Cafe'. After purchasing the building Tonya saw the need to update and renovate the building to meet her standards, immediatley she did so and the finished look compliments the tasty and scrumptuous dishes which are served Tuesday thru Sundays 9:00am to 3:00pm. Some of the most popular dishes consist of the Chicken & Waffles, Fish & Grits, Salmon Cakes, and the Grilled Chicken Omlet. Coming to Yana's is truly a joy because the atmosphere along with the hospitality of the staff makes the experience like eating at home in "Mommas Kitchen". With growning popularity and a wide customer base serving the elderly, school students, city employees, buisness associations, and the entire community at large, Yana's continues to strive to make each customers encounter an enjoyable experience and one that will keep you coming back and bringing family and friends to enjoy a wonderful and pleasant experience.
