  • THE PETAL GALLERY Who we are: The Petal Gallery was founded in 2004 by Stephanie BeDan, a sole proprietor, who offered exclusive wedding and event design services in the Denver area. Stephanie has studied floral design for over seven years, having worked in the industry along the Front Range and in Charleston, South Carolina, where she worked as an events florist. Her design experience and technique is reflected in her enthusiasm for creativity and consistent with current trends and services required for a successful venture. Stephanie worked as a lead designer, providing arrangements on a weekly basis to five star hotels such as the Francis Marion, in Charleston. Her event experience is made up of varying plantation, Citadel, and Kiawah Island social and cultural events. Stephanie holds a BS in Behavorial Science and was a recent winner in the FTD design contest. The founders and key managers of the team have combined experiences exceeding twenty five years in the retail industry. Adding to the team with Stephanie is Kris Colwell, AIFD. As an accredited member of The American Institute of Floral Designers, Kris joins a group of leading floral designers dedicated to recognizing and promoting the art of floral design as a professional career. AIFD designers are committed to establishing and maintaining higher standards in professional floral design. Accredited Membership in AIFD is selective. To be accredited, a floral designer must fulfill rigid qualifications and de monstrate advanced professional ability. Kris has over 20 years of experience as an exclusive wedding designer and events coordinator. Kris recently sold The Flower Company in Fort Collins, CO to enable her the freedom to design out of the area. She services the entire Front Range, including Vail and Aspen with her design capabilities. Kris showcases simple and unique techniques and a style that helps bring beautiful arrangements into the daily lives of customers. Her breath taking wedding designs illustrate her ability to bring together diverse elements to create stunning yet personal environments. Kris also offers experience in management, product selec tion, competitive pricing, classroom instruction, and consumer attention. Her experience has lead her to be one of the few Colorado florists utilizing design positions in the Rose Bowl parade in Pasadena, CA. Karen Kitchens provides the financial, operational and marketing management for the shop. With over 17 years in the commercial real estate industry, Karen will be managing working capital, including receivables, inventory, cash, budgets, financial forecasting, and pro-forma financial statements. Karen's marketing experience will enable her to reach out to the community through bridal exhibitions, offering exclusive design services to brides-to-be. As the financial manager for the largest event florist in South Carolina, Karen gained considerable experience in marketing and competitive pricing for floral events. Also having been trained in design, Karen will assist Stephanie and Kris in providing captivating arrangements for clientele. Karen's experience encompasses five star hotels in Charleston, General Schwartzkopf's reception at the Citadel, Jimmy Buffetts birthday cruise off Kiawah Island, Hootie and the Blowfish reception at Kiawah, Middleton Plantation events and enactments, and many plantation style weddings. Karen holds a BS in Marketing. Ken Kitchens, former Business Franchise Advisor for Hobbytown USA for five years, will provide services as a business advisor and retail consultant. Trained in retail management, Ken's experience in identifying new markets, advertising, market research, inventory management, sales and marketing will be an asset to The Petal Gallery. Ken holds a BS in Business Management. Pricing: Each event/wedding is unique, thus we are only able to provide a general quote. Each event is built and designed by our designers which ensures not one is like another. Estimates on cost is available prior to the first consultation, this provides a baseline for our design team to work from. The Process Flow: An initial consultation is set for our customers to provide us with a synopsis of their vision of the event. After the proposal is compiled and sent, secondary contact is made. If the decision is made to book with The Petal Gallery, 20% of the total estimate is due to hold the date. We allow for any changes to be made up to 2 weeks before the event. 50% of the balance is due 3 months before the event date and the remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the event date. Mission Statement: The Petal Gallery will provide customers with the highest quality floral design service and gift selection, offering integrity and craftsmanship of each product designed. We will offer superior customer service always remembering our customers contribution to the sucess of our store.
