SonShine Inn opened 10 years ago in August of 1998 as an outreach ministry of Ohio County Christian Center. It is a faith-based child care center than is licensed by the state for 80 children from the ages of 6 weeks through their 12th year. It's hours of operation is 24 hour a day, 5 day a week to accommodate the working families in our community. The center is also licensed for Saturday and Sundays and has the goal of also offering this to our community as well. At this present time the hours of operation are from Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. until the following Saturday morning at 1:30 a.m.
SonShine offers a faith-based daily curriculum for all ages. Three meals and two snacks are served throughout the day. All food is provided for children including formula and food for infants. Bedding for nap time and night time are also provided for the parents convenience.
It is the goal of SonShine to be home away from home for children whose parents must be away from them during these formative impressionable days and hours of their lives. The staff is dedicated to provide a safe place where children can feel free to be a "kid", experience new things, learn about themselves, and come to know that Jesus loves them.
