Lake County is a leader in the State of Oregon in developing alternative energy resources. The Town of Lakeview owns a geothermal heating system currently saving the State of Oregon hundreds of thousands of dollars heating a minimum security DOC prison work camp. They recently completed a feasibility study for a 200 MW electric generation facility to be connected to that system which will eventually be used to heat business and residential customers. The Lake County Resource Initiative is planning a wood waste bio-mass plant that will provide electricity for 10,000 homes in the Pacific North West. We have inexpensive land available for housing, business and industry based on using renewable resources to build a sustainable community in a clean, smog free environment with low crime and friendly people!
