- Our chamber has over 350 members consisting of rafting, lodging, restaurants, gift shops, etc. We are also the visitor and information center serving northern Chaffee county. Let us help you plan your vacation. People come to Buena Vista to raft, hike, mountain bike, golf, ski, snowmobile and mountain climb. We are also know for our historical reinactments. There are more 14,000 foot mountains west of Buena Vista than anywhere else in the state of Colorado. We are known as the "banana belt" of Colorodo because of our mild winters.
