There seems to be a culture at McDonalds that I think is very unethical and this store pulls these unethical stunts frequently. A customer orders a combo and without asking, the server put in a supersized fry or a drink. Frequently I will go in for a quick breakfast and order a #2 with a coffee. The bill is always higher than what is posted on the board. When asked about this, the answer I get is that I ordered a #2 with a medium coffee. Did not happen. The price difference is not great but if this goes on all day long is sure does add to the bottom line and the margins are probably the highest on drinks.
Well today, it happened with lunch. Went through the drive through and ordered a #4 with a coke and the bill was higher than what was posted on board. When I went up to the pick up window, I questioned it and was told “you ordered a #4 with a coke and supersized fries.” I like the fact that it all of a sudden became my fault that I ordered something I didn’t. To her credit she offered to correct the situation. I declined because there was a line behind me. Later I tried to get with the manager by phone. After six attempts someone finally picked up the phone and when I asked for the manager, she said she was the manager. It was so obvious she could not manage anything. Finally the “real” manager got on the line and although he was apologetic about the situation, somehow the suggestion came out that I did, in fact, order a supersize option.
This unethical behavior is not isolated to this store as I have run into this at McDonalds frequently wherever I may be. I choose, now, to not spend my money with a company with these poor standards.
Would you recommend McDonald's Restaurant #316 to others? No
