Description: As a licensed activity of NASCAR, this attraction has a lot in store for fans of one of the fastest-growing spectator sports in the country. All of the park’s downsize race cars are custom-designed and custom-built. Four actual NASCAR show vehicles are on display throughout the property as are more than 100 items of NASCAR memorabilia and hundreds of photos of NASCAR events and stars. With eight tracks spread out over 26 acres, this $15-million speed park, which opened in 1999, is Sevier county’s third-largest attraction by acreage (after Dollywood and Ober Gatlinburg). The tracks are each different and cater to every driving preference and skill level. At one end of the spectrum is the Baby Bristol track for drivers who are at least 40 inches tall. The small, single-loop circuit is just right for youngsters. At the other extreme is the quarter-mile Smoky Mountain Speedway track, which requires drivers to be at least 5 feet tall. Kids who aren’t quite tall enough can try the Rookie Experience on the same quarter-mile track. Participants need only be 54 inches tall for this one. In between are other courses—the Qualifier, Young Champions, Slidewayz, the Intimidator, and the Competitor—that range from basic oval shapes to multiple-turn surfaces. Minimum height requirements for these tracks range from 48 inches for the Qualifier to 62 inches for the Competitor. The Family 500 track has double-seat karts so that adults and children can burn rubber together. Drivers must be at least 48 inches tall (or 60 inches tall for a double car), and passengers must be at least 40 inches tall. Inside the main building is the 28,000-square-foot Speed Dome arcade, featuring more than 60 racing games and driving simulators. You’ll also find the Pit Stop Grill and souvenir shops full of SpeedPark memorabilia and apparel. Rounding out the amusements are bumper boats, a climbing wall, and two miniature golf courses. NASCAR SpeedPark is open year-round. The number of tickets required ranges from one ticket for the Baby Bristol track to four tickets for the Smoky Mountain Speedway. Individual tickets sell for $3 each, with packages of 9 tickets for $20 or 25 tickets for $50. An all-access wristband pass for all ages costs $32 and includes access to all rides and attractions except the Smoky Mountain Speedway and the NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway Simulator.
