Description: Considered by many naturalists to be one of the best places for bird watchers, photographers, and hikers, this 5,000-acre area, owned by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, has a 400-acre shallow-­water lake that provides prime nesting space for Canada geese (a large flock remains in the area year-­round) and, in fall, tundra swans.Fishing is permitted in specified areas, as are hunting and trapping during legally prescribed seasons. Boats propelled by paddles and oars are allowed from mid-­May through mid-­Sept.
