1. Flatbush Golf Course

City: Littlestown, PA
Category: Golf
Telephone: (717) 359-7125, (877) 359-7125
Address: 940 Littlestown Road

Description: Don’t let the windmill and gazebos that decorate the course deceive you; this is a challenging course that features open fairways, many in a dogleg configuration, water hazards, and well-placed trees. (Course rules allow the windmill and gazebos to be taken out of the line of flight without penalty.) The 6,205-yard, par 71 layout was designed by Ault, Clark and Assoc. and opened in July 1989. One of the more interesting holes is the 510-yard, par 5 No. 15, which has a double dogleg. Tee times are recommended and may be scheduled up to 10 days in advance on the Web site or 6 days in advance by phone. The fee is $26 to walk and $38 to ride the course, which is located about 10 miles southeast of Gettysburg. The best way to get there is to take Hanover Street (Route 116) east for 7 miles, turn right onto Littlestown Road, and travel for about 2 more miles. You’ll also find a log-cabin-style clubhouse with a pro shop and locker rooms with showers; a driving range, putting green, and practice bunker; and a lounge and snack bar. Lessons are available, and proper golf attire is required.

Category: Golf
Telephone: (717) 359-8453
Address: 901 Teeter Road

Description: This course in Littlestown was purchased in March 2004 by Scott and Colyn Keller, and the brothers have made many changes. They didn’t alter the course’s great layout, but they have improved the conditions of the tees, greens, and fairways. The clubhouse pro shop and the restaurant have also been remodeled, and amenities include a lounge and snack bar, a driving range, and a putting green. Lessons are also available. This 18-hole, 6,567-yard, par 72 course is about 10 miles southeast of Gettysburg; take Baltimore Pike southeast for about 7 miles and turn right onto Gettysburg Road. Travel 2 more miles and turn right onto Teeter Road, and the course is just another 3⁄4 mile down the road. Tee times are required and may be made up to eight days in advance at this non-metal-spike facility, where proper golf attire is also required. Cost is $49 to ride the course.
