Description: The annual $75,000 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Pro Circuit ColemanVision Championships for women has featured top-100 Grand Slam women’s players since 1999. Traditionally scheduled for fall, three weeks after the U.S. Open, the tournament draws players from 30 countries. The USTA Pro Circuit event is held at the Tanoan Country Club, which has 14 courts. Tennis fans in Albuquerque appreciate the intimacy of the venue and the opportunity to see top-ranking players close to home. In 2008 29-year-old Julie Ditty made tennis history at the championships in Albuquerque. By winning both the singles and doubles events, she achieved her thirty-first and thirty-second USTA Pro Circuit titles. Ditty thus became the all-time record holder, inheriting that position from Paul Goldstein and Nana Smith, who each have 30 USTA Pro Circuit titles.
