Description: For over 30 years New Mexico Jazz Workshop has promoted jazz education and performance, although their musical offerings range broader than solely jazz. Concerts include the summer series Jazz & Blues Under the Stars and Salsa Under the Stars, both running from around May through August. They also present a Father’s Day weekend Blues Fest and an annual Women’s Voices festival (usually June) to showcase some of the best of New Mexico’s female vocalists. All these events have been held in previous years at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History Amphitheatre. Sunday evening jam sessions, also May through August, are traditionally held on the Seasons Rotisserie & Grill restaurant’s rooftop patio, with a house band of professional musicians and others welcome to turn up and join the jam. There is no cover charge, so come to listen or play. New Mexico Jazz Workshop also has a program of jazz classes for adults, youth, and kids.
