Description: Formerly the Ballet Theatre of New Mexico, Ballet Repertory Theatre performs several times a year at the KiMo Theatre. This classical ballet company’s repertoire includes both traditional and innovative contemporary works. Artistic Director Katherine Giese has worked or performed with the Joffrey Ballet Workshop, the New Mexico Ballet Company, the Contemporary Dance Ensemble, the Canyon Movement Company, and the Incarnate Word College Ballet Company. As a child she performed in La Sylphide with the Berlin Ballet, which featured Rudolf Nureyev and Eva Evdokimova. The company includes Jackson Stewart, who dances professionally with the State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara, and Dominic Guerra, who has performed professionally with American Repertory Ballet and danced with Luis Fuentes Ballet, the Alvin Ailey Showcase Group, Connecticut Ballet, and Zig Zag Ballet. Female dancers include Cristal Segura, who has performed with the Martha Graham Company, and Sabrina Lord-Linde, who danced for two years with Vladimir Issaev’s company, performed in St. Petersburg, Russia, in the 2005 International Dance Open, and trained with Mme. Alla Osipenko (former prima ballerina of the Kirov Ballet) at Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, where she received the Osipenko Award of Outstanding Achievement.
