Description: The Lake Elmo Park Reserve is 2,165 acres of forest, wetlands, and prairie restoration lands. Eighty percent of the parkland is set aside for preservation and protection, and because of this, Lake Elmo is home to a huge variety of native animals, birds, reptiles, and fish. People come to Lake Elmo year-round for both shore and boat fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, and cross-country skiing. There are also three campgrounds with a total of 103 campsites, restroom facilities, lighted picnic shelters with electricity, hand pumps for water, and a two-acre swim pond that’s regularly maintained by the park.
