Description: It’s amazing that this Indian eatery at the end of Maine Street is not more popular. If people knew better the quality of the curries, chutneys, and especially the samosas served here, they’d be lining up and fighting over the handful of tables inside. But the small restaurant is rarely full, and you often have the place to yourself. You can usually get one of the tables set up in the window, which is a nice spot to take in all the colorful goings-on out on the street while you wait to feast on nan, dal, and chicken vindaloo. Service is good, food is great, and the menu is deep and long with rice, seafood, chicken, lamb, and vegetarian “delights,” so everyone should be able to find something. Prices are probably the catch; they’re a little more expensive than other area Indian dining rooms. But they often have specials, and they have a more affordable lunch menu, too.
