Description: The Theatre Project brings to Baltimore some of the best, cutting-edge, fringe theater in the country, maybe the world. Its founder started the theater in a run-down building with makeshift seating and passed a hat at the end of the performances. Today’s space is much more professional; the seats are comfortable and you can buy a real ticket or even a whole subscription. In a recent season, theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Albert Einstein’s dreams were the subjects of two plays. Circus, women’s empowerment, and dark comedy were among the choices, too. As long as you’re out for a cultural event, stop by the John Fonda Gallery to see the works of contemporary visual artists. Works may include paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, or fiber arts. Except for special events, theater tickets generally are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and artists, and $10 for students.
