Description: This bright and airy uptown breakfast and lunch spot boasts some of the city’s best breads, pastries, and muffins. Executive chef Greg Sears says he has returned to his roots here at the Café—simple, savory, and well prepared. Sears boasts he once prepared a meal for the legendary James Beard. Menu items include grilled country French ham and Gruyère on French bread, roasted rosemary lamb on tomato and onion focaccia, shrimp and pasta salads, chicken quesadillas served with baby farm lettuce and avocado-tomato vinaigrette salads, and sides such as new potato salads, freshly made creamy cole slaw, and white balsamic pasta salads. Buckhead Bread offers a pleasant terrace dining area in good weather and is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. As per usual for this central-Buckhead location, the expected attire is “dressy casual,” no reservations are accepted, and parking can be an issue (several pay lots are relatively close by, but street parking is not a good idea during the business day).
