Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - Health Care - Atlanta, Georgia

City: Atlanta, GA
Category: Health Care

Description: Created in 1998, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta merged two of the metro area’s three children’s hospitals, Egleston and Scottish Rite. The separate names live on, however, at the two original hospitals, Children’s Egleston on the Emory University campus in DeKalb County and Children’s at Scottish Rite in Sandy Springs in the hospital complex known locally as “Pill Hill.” In addition to the hospitals, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta operates more than 25 satellite centers throughout the metro area, serving almost 500,000 patients each year. In 2006 and in 2007 Fortune magazine ranked Children’s as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For.” Children’s was also recognized as one of America’s best children’s hospitals in 2004, 2005, and 2006 by U.S. News and World Report. In early 2007 Child magazine ranked Children’s third among the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the country. Even though they have combined, each hospital retains its history and identity.
