Description: Virginia Miller Galleries opened in 1974, predicated on the belief in the dealer to educate and enlighten visitors about contemporary art as well as introduce them to new art forms. Miller now curates various exhibitions of Latin American artists. Never one to shy away from controversy, Miller exhibited Soviet art when Russia was still seen as an enemy and held a Fernando Luis exhibition featuring lewd priests and impregnated nuns. She is also known for ability to merge business with altruism such as in 1983 when she secured the exclusive exhibition of “Doonesbury” animation drawings to benefit a charity for abused children. The gallery is home to selected works of noted artists such as Karel Appel, Diego Rivera, and Alice Neel. Open Mon through Fri 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat by appointment.
