Airport And Valmont Roads - Parks & Recreation - Boulder, Colorado

City: Boulder, CO
Category: Parks & Recreation
Address: 5660 Sioux Drive

Description: Boulder residents love their dogs, and they love their parks. The two passions have been combined with the creation of two fenced parks just for dogs and their owners. The parks are open daily from dawn to dusk and are surrounded by 4-foot chain link fences so dogs can safely run off-leash. A 3.5-acre park at Valmont and Airport Roads in northeast Boulder is on a portion of the otherwise undeveloped Valmont City Park. Water spigots are available for thirsty pooches. The second park is on 1.5 acres in an undeveloped portion of the East Boulder Community Park, next to the East Boulder Community Center at 5660 Sioux Drive. This park gives dogs access to a portion of a pond. Only licensed and unaggressive dogs may visit the parks. In addition, there is an unfenced dog exercise area at Howard Heuston Park at 34th Street and Iris Avenue. Dogs visiting this park must respond to voice commands.
