Description: About an hour’s drive from Boulder, Coors Amphitheatre, southeast of Denver, offers summer performances by all types of top nationally known groups, including rock, classical, and oldies (a recent season included Snoop Dog and REO Speedwagon). Enjoy these outdoor events either from reserved seats or with a picnic on the lawn. The usual types of food and drinks are sold in the amphitheater, but the venue is strict about allowing no outside food or drink—no coolers, picnic baskets, or thermoses. Also outlawed: cameras, tape recorders, lawn chairs, knives, and firearms. You may bring small backpacks and blankets, umbrellas, and binoculars. No exit is allowed once you enter the concert area; if you forget your ID for alcoholic beverages, you can’t go out to your car and get it. Concert season is mid-May through October.
