Description: Like most airports in Colorado, Boulder’s airport is uncontrolled, meaning it has no control tower. Private propeller planes and a few smaller turbojets land here. There is a comfortable lobby where a selection of videos about flying are for sale.Despite being open to the public and visiting aircraft, there are no commercial airlines operating from the facility. There are, however, 234 aircraft based at the site and various businesses operating there, such as flight training schools, aircraft maintenance facilities, charter operations, aircraft sales, and various flight clubs. There are three flight schools at the airport, Journeys Aviation Boulder (303-449-4210), Specialty Flight Training (303-530-0550) and Mile High Gliding (303-527-1122). There are hangar and tie-down rentals available as well, and a parachuting outfit (1-800-498-JUMP). To reach the airport, take Valmont Road east to Airport Road.
