Description: No, Rohnert Park isn’t made up entirely of Home Depots and Wal-Marts. This pleasant, 128-acre park is just east of Sonoma State University, in the foothills of Sonoma Mountain. It has a picnic area and 3 miles of trails open to people on foot, bicycles, and horses. Follow the creek past buckeye, oak, and maple. Crane Creek is on Pressley Road; take Roberts Road east from Petaluma Hill Road. The park is open sunrise to sunset. Parking is $5. Dogs must be leashed, and drinking water is not available in the park.
