Description: This remote park was once part of the long-forgotten community of Olinda, an area settled by farmers and ranchers in the 19th century. The park, which sits in a canyon surrounded by homes, remains somewhat rural and unscathed by Orange County’s many building booms. The park has eight lighted tennis courts, a trio of sand volleyball courts, and a field used for active group sports. A pair of backstops is available for softball games on a first come, first-served basis. Little park goers can get an active workout at one of five fully equipped tot lots with equipment to climb and explore. There are nine covered picnic areas, a four-acre lake, a pair of fishing ponds that require anglers 16 and older to have a fishing license, an amphitheater, and barbecues. Naturalist-guided tours and group lectures are offered year-round. Open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. November to March and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. April through October.
