This is what I used when searching for the best apartment complex inside the city limits.

I'm looking for a graph or chart that compares apples to apples. I found a chart with the top 50 cities in Texas. But for me only somewhat useful. You had towns of 8,000 population compared to cities of over 200,000. Sure many if not most small places have a lower crime.

I'm still looking as you could by just googling. Good luck.

I have heard that Longview has a lot of crime and drug problems. Can locals confirm or? I’m also wondering if there are any folks who have made the move from Colorado to the Tyler area and how they acclimated (or have they?) to the humidity? Considering semi-retirement in Tyler closer to some extended family.

Over the many years, I have seen a few posts from posters that lived in Colorado. Just a side note, I sold my house with a couple from Colorado. They had know family connections in Tyler, just decided on Tyler. The medical community here was an important consideration for them.

Kathryn is a regular on city data she may post some of her experiences.

We moved from SoCal to Las Vegas to Tyler and were used to a pretty dry climate. The humidity is there in the summer, but you can acclimate if you want to. Once I realized it was a choice, it didn't bother me anymore. It's not like the deep south except for a few random weeks during the year when that moisture makes it up here. Drink more water and take regular breaks to cool off and it's not bad.
