Hey everyone,

I posted a little while back as I was searching for apartments in the area as an SU undergrad, and the options I found through the thread I made/orange housing etc were either a bit too undesirable for a 19 year old female or a bit too expensive. Thankfully, I found a place on the edges of the city that allow me to commute to SU. However, to put it bluntly, it sucks. It's around a 20 mile round trip daily, and is mind-numbing and rather killing for my social life being in a suburb. (thankfully it's a month-to-month lease, so no issue there) SO, here I am again posting, perhaps I could snag something a bit later in the year from former tenants that weren't available over the weeks preceding the semester start? Regardless, my apt criteria are:

$600-750 max, utilities must be included in the upper pricing tier.
1br/1Ba, studios work as long as they aren't on the size scale of 300 sq ft or similar
I don't have pets, etc so no issue there.
Washer/Dryer doesn't matter for me

tl;dr I desperately need help finding an apartment that meets my criteria above, thanks

Where did you end up?

These may work: D.N.Drucker Ltd. :: Real Estate and Brokerage Company

Perhaps the ones listed on West Genesee Street would work, especially the first 2 listings. Those two at least put you very close to Tipp Hill and closer to campus.

Hey Ckh! Great to see you again!

I actually ended up right by OCC, not the worst at all but definitely far, far away. I'll check those out in a second.

Yeah, you are in a more rural/suburban area that wouldn't fit what you seem to be looking for. I'd give some of those listed a try, as I've heard good things about Drucker from a former poster on here. if you notice that mention of solvay Electric on there, Solvay has its own power company with very low utility rates. So, that may also be something to consider. This is the street view for the area the first two listings are in: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=charl...dnarecvEfzZcYA

There is a pretty good Chinese restaurant(China Pavilion), an Eastern european cafe(Kava), a Polish market, a sit down restaurant(Kirby's), a Tops Supermarket, a Planet Fitness, a thrift store and a Fish Market, among other stores, in nearby Westvale Plaza. There's the Blarney Stone at Hamilton and Avery in Tipp Hill about 4 blocks away and the zoo is in Burnet Park about 8 blocks away. So, there is quite a bit in that area.

I'm not sure about the price, but this building isn't too far from campus, but is in a nice, quiet neighborhood: Sutton Real Estate Company, LLC

Actually I'm very interested in those first two, and the area's rather nice without being too far out. Thank you so much!!!!

It is more of a working/lower middle class area and you should be fine. There is also more shopping further west and south, with 2 Wegmans and a Price Chopper for grocery shopping. Downtown is further east from that area.

Maybe these could work: DLH Properties

Rugby Square Apartments - Pet Friendly Apartments in Syracuse, NY

Chestnut Crossing Apartment Homes
