Anyone have an issue with a cracked windshield on the Outback? Appears to be a very common problem on the newer ones (2016-21). Mine just cracked. 2021 with 1600 miles

When we bought our 2020 Outback, we paid an additional $2,000 for the Gold Plus extended warranty, which includes windshield replacement and calibration, for 10 years/100k miles, in addition to everything else. That's the equivalent of only $200/year for peace of mind for a long time not worrying about costly repairs.

Read it again , apparently it covers only glass repairs and only if shorter than a dollar bill in length , not replacement
Keep in mind while glass cover falls under comprehensive , every claim you file regardless of fault goes in your CLUE report ...any claim not reimbursed dings your insurance scores.
My Jeep buddies found out the hard way when they got dropped for more than one replacement or shopped for insurance ...
A ding on your insurance score can cost you big time.
You are allowed one free copy a year of your clue report ..you should run home and auto and check it for accuracy.
Any claim not reimbursed to your insurer is a ding.
Here in New York your own insurer can’t raise you for comprehensive claims but thay can drop you ..other insurers can price you according to the dings in the score from claims.
Some insurance company road side assistance report to clue... run out of gas or lock your keys in the car , irresponsible driver alert .
To many battery jumps ,drives an un maintained car alert
I had the windshield break the first winter in my 2019 Forester, basically when the car was less than 2 months old. Fortunately, Massachusetts insurance regulations require windshield replacement (I think every 2 years?) be part of the coverage, so my insurance policy handled it for me. I wasn't happy, but fortunately the problem has not recurred and I've had the car for about 2 years... fingers crossed.

The warranty coverage says glass repair not replacement
I read the warranties that I have from Subaru, and it's not what I thought, the Gold Plus does only cover repair. It's an additional warranty from a 3rd party for about $800 that we got that covers replacement and recalibration. (Whew!)
