nope. not even that.

I don't think I'm physically capable of doing my former job.

But money wasn't the problem. I made a decent wage.

More respect
less responsibility-
fewer govt regs
unlimited chocolate ice cream.

Good money, flexible schedule and something I would enjoy.

A travel-related, totally non-stressful job that is also paid something. Like, if someone would pay me a plane ticket and hotel accommodation, to carry something back and forth between the US and a different European city every Wednesday, I'd do that without any extra pay. I could be an intercontinental courier. There used to be international couriers for valuable items - is that still a thing at all? I'll look it up right now! But that's kind of not really a job :-).

I would have to think about it if I were asked to be ambassador to Italy.

Now, couriers are FedEx and UPS international service.

Rarely do I respond to first posters, but something similar is something I have considered. If WW III were to break out and there were tasks involving radiation and/or certain death, I'd volunteer to keep those much younger from having to do them. It isn't nobility, it isn't anything more than recognition of a lifetime of knowledge that was going to go soon anyway, and a responsibility to my own beliefs. I suspect that there are a number of posters who might do something similar.

I’m sitting here trying to think of what it would take, and I honestly can’t think of a single thing that would get me to come out of retirement. Not money - we have enough to live very comfortably. I love the freedom to do what I want when I want. I love not having to be anywhere when I don’t want to be. I love being able to pursue my hobby on a daily basis. I love being able to go on a trip in the spur of the moment. I love being able to attend my grandchildren’s daytime school activities when they occur. I love being able to help out with them their parents need us. I can’t thing of a single job that would cause me to give up all that.

If I could transplant my brain into a healthy 23 year old body....

Oh, the things I could have done if I knew then what I know now.
