In McKinney D R Horton built and is building several communities.

What Builder does D R Horton compare to as far as build quality?

Is D R Horton on the lowest of low end home builders? For example like KB Builders.

Can any D R Horton customers or those knowledgeable reply?!!!

Would you spend $220K for a D R Horton home in a prime location near 121? 2100 sq. ft. with all engineered hard wood floors in all rooms, no granite. 2009. Small backyard.

Thank you!!!

What's "prime"? Upper east side of Manhattan?
Middling suburb outside of Manhattan KS?

DR Horton is consistently one of the most prolific production builders in the country. They have a lot to lose so if the quality was extremely low, their warranty and legal expenses would put them out of business quickly.
They are pretty average in their floorplan offerings and don't take many risks on the material finish front (beige and white trim prevail) but their market is the average suburban family so it all works out.

DR Horton is either the largest or second largest builder in the US, forget which. Pulte is the other one and Lennar is third. I think they are on par with any of the nationals.

DR Horton is Not Better Business Rated. Whereas Pulte has an A+ BBB Rating. Any Comments?

They are average and a track builder but I certainly would not compare them to KB. They actually have a new line of luxury homes called "Emerald Homes' and I would compare those to Highland. The difference between the 2 products is phenomenal.

BBB is meaningless.
You can take that to the bank.

Default DR Horton Homeowner

We just sold our 2006 DR Horton home. We loved it. It was solidly built, never had issues with ANYTHING. We just had the inspection & the only thing they came back with was that our AC drip pan was rusted & they requested it to be replaced. I can't compare it to another builder since i don't know where you are buying at, or what builders you have been looking at. We went with another builder this time just due to what we were looking for. I would buy another DR Horton. The neighborhood we are in looks good, all the houses do - there are no issues with foundations or roofs. They used quality materials and the builder took any concerns we had seriously, so when it came time for the final walk it was very simple.

DR Horton
Lennar
Brookfield
K Hovnanian

I'd line them all up against each other
