The mansion where recently deceased pop queen Whitney Houston endured drug addiction and an abusive marriage is now for sale as a private listing after floating on and off the market for a couple of years.

Currently priced at $1.75M, the 12,600-square-foot spread is only being shown to pre-approved buyers who've got $1.5M in liquid assets.

It's nice, but curved walls are a challenge to decorate in sometimes. It's also not in the most exciting location. Maybe someone will snap it soon.

Well, with a marketing plan like that, it's likely to stay available for a while. While the price is not ridiculous for that area, insisting that potential buyers have $1.5million LIQUID is rather self defeating. With mortgage money available so cheaply, why limit the pool of potential buyers to those who have pools of cash that hasn't been invested?

Place is not listed in the MLS. Pix are from a former MLS listing. Looks like a tasteless publicity stunt for a web site. It's all about the buzz.

The post said it was still available as a "private listing". I gave the benefit of the doubt.
