I use a Nikon FG, typically with a 50mm f1.8 prime lens. Shoot Kodak Tri-X b&w film..also develop all my own film and prints.
I also play around with a Lomo LC-A which I snagged for around $100 off ebay
And on some rare occasions I pull out and experiment with a Holga 120N (would do it more, but medium format is ridiculously expensive to develop)

This question was once posed to Ansel Adams. I love his reply ... "the lightest one possible". As you probably know, Ansel shot primairly with big and bulky 8x10 and larger view cameras. However, he was not above using
35mm or 2.25 when the situation called for it. Keep in mind, it's not the name on the front of the camera that is important as it is the brain looking through the viewfinder. Good shooting. Lou

I currently use a Nikon D200 with a Tamron 18-250mm lens as my prime. I've done 4x5 and 2.25 for professional work in the 'stone ages when I used film', but the Nikon does everything I need a camera to do and it's the last camera I plan to buy. Lou
BTW Ray & DaBeez, I also been known to use a Remmington 1187 on birds and clays

Very good. Long ago I used a couple of Nikon film cameras, including a F3 with motor drive, SB-12 flash, a 55mm f/1.4 lens, plus a few other lenses. Then a few years ago I switched to Canon. My oldest daughter asked me for the F3, since I took lots of pictures of her with this camera. It holds a sort of sentimental value to her, so I packed it and shipped it to her for her birth day. What I plan to do is to get two more Canon L lenses, and every three years or so, upgrade to one of the cropped-sensor bodies in the 40D series. I have used the XT for three years, so I am do for an upgrade next year.

I hunt moose in September each year (Alaska), and use a .338WM rifle. I also carry a back-up revolver in my ATV , a Freedom Arms .454 Casull, and a .22LR pistol with a red-dot sight for taking a grouse or two while at the campsite.
What camera would you recommend for an amateur wanting a good camera?
