Animals Starving KIEV, Ukraine, April 7, 2014 (ENS) –

KIEV, Ukraine, April 7, 2014 (ENS) – Ukraine resident Lionel de Lange, an entrepreneurial, animal-loving, bush war veteran from South Africa, is engaged in a rescue mission – to save more than 6,000 Ukraine zoo animals from starvation brought on by economic and political strife in the region.

These Ukrainian zoo animals are in dire straits because government funding for their food has dried up, De Lange said the animals will starve if aid is not provided by donors.

Thank you for posting the link to this article. As you can see from this the Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization is speaking for peace on behalf of the zoo animals and Mother Nature. This story is expanding and the Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization (LAEO) is working to save more than 10,000 animals in Ukraine zoos right now. We are protecting the animals from dying of starvation and the situation is immediate and dire.

Sometimes "put to sleep" is the most humane thing to do.

Oregon: Agree totally. Better than languishing in locked cages with no/little food.

I think this is a very difficult decision, which was not easy for him. I agree with your words - in the country, after the military conflict there will be a big decline in the economy and God forbid that there will be enough resources to feed the people. What can we say about animals, especially large exotic ones like lions, giraffes, and bears? Perhaps they would rather die in their sleep than suffer from hunger...
